Over Home is the memoir of the early days of Audrey Child in Henry, Illinois. A trip to their hometown with her brother Joe takes Audrey to those houses of her childhood and those people who played an important role as she grew up. She recalls pre-war to ’50s memories of rural Midwest life that she left as soon as she could but never forgot. She comes to terms with the role her father played as the well-liked mailman and the different man she and her brothers knew while visiting all the places that meant so much outside their home.
