These are stories about life, death, and the liminal space in between.
Part memoir and part reflection, these writings are drawn from the author’s experiences as a hospital chaplain and interwoven with her journey, at times anguished but ultimately soul-enriching, through her parents’ disparate endings. Their end-of-life process was and still is mirrored in the author’s hospital chaplaincy work, where she meets people on the edges: at the boundary of this world and the next, wavering on the threshold of the Great Unknown. Here we see and feel not only the light of the human spirit, but the presence of something bigger: Grace.
